This webinar will explore the issue of domestic violence for women of the Christian faith. Research suggests that, like the general population, one in three women in the church are abused by an intimate partner. 

These victims often struggle with how to reconcile their abuse with scripture. If victims believe it is God's intent for her to endure the abuse and stay with her abuser, religion can become a burden instead of a source of hope. Domestic violence advocates must understand and be prepared to address and discuss these specific concerns with victims non-judgmentally. This insight will allow advocates to identify the needs specific to Christian women as well as offer them domestic violence resources from a Christian-based perspective that emphasize safety and support.
